Supercharge Your Breath with Experiential Anatomy

Date 2022 – to be confirmed

We live in a breathless society”.

Carola Speads made this observation over 60 years ago and it is even more true today. Dysfunctional breathing has been associated clinically with numerous conditions ranging from chronic pain to premenstrual syndrome and anxiety. Although remedial breathing practices may be helpful, they are often prescribed before students have mastered the foundational practice of restoring free and full natural breath. This course will address the current epidemic of poor breathing habits and offer innovative solutions to yoga teachers and therapists to free the natural breath by repatterning both the bony breath container and its soft inner contents with innovative experiential anatomy practices.

Participants will:

  • Learn the mechanics of breathing through the lens of experiential anatomy.
  • Use experiential anatomy practices to develop a felt sense of your own respiratory system.
  • Practice simple somatic explorations to repattern free and natural breathing.
  • Learn about breath from a koshic perspective.
