Who is the Yoga Federation of Ireland?
The Yoga Federation of Ireland is the largest united, professional Yoga body in Ireland – linking Yoga across the island of Ireland and working towards voluntary self regulation of Yoga in Ireland. Members are Satyananda Yoga Ireland, The Yoga Fellowship of Northern Ireland and Yoga Therapy Ireland.
Why was the Yoga Federation of Ireland set up?
Regulation, whether statutory or voluntary, is about protecting the public and for this reason is fully supported by the Department of Health and Children. To this end it is required that each complementary therapy discipline have one federated representative body.
What do we do?
We promote The Professional Status for Yoga in Ireland. We do this by:
- Promoting and supporting the training schools; practitioners and the profession
- Holding a single register of practitioners who meet agreed standards of training and practice
- Promoting the process of regulation
- Providing profession specific information to the public
- Liaising with other organisations and government departments on profession specific issue
- Promoting referrals within the healthcare system
- Promoting Yoga with Private Healthcare Insurance Companies
